University Center and Residence

The University Center and Residence also known as the President’s Residence has been called home by many former NMSU Presidents. The residence is located on university land just east of I-25.  Construction on the University Center and Residence began in 1979 and was completed by 1980.  Prior to the current residence being built the original President’s Residence was the Nason House, located on University Avenue which is now home to The Center for Latin American Studies.  The decision to build a new residence was due to the expansion of University Avenue and the lack of space to host guests at the Nason House. Currently, the University Center and Residence is used by the Office of the President to host social functions.
